MY SPECIALTIES

I predominantly work in the here and now to help you identify and facilitate finding your own solutions. My approach is tailored to each client's individual needs and is centred around you, drawing on a range of therapeutic techniques Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Distress Tolerance, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Stone Therapy, Family Scripts and Solution Focused Therapy.
STRESS & BURNOUT
Stress is a common experience, but too much stress can take a toll on your mental and physical health. Through stress management, you can learn effective coping strategies to reduce stress and improve your overall well-being. Including exploring healthy boundaries.
RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING
GRIEF
As part of the Masters degree, I provide relationship counselling; whether this is a couple, siblings or friends. Relationship Counselling can help improve the way you relate to those around you and allow you to break free from old patterns of behaviour.
Grief counselling can help you navigate the complex emotions that come with loss. Together, we can work through the grief process and find healthy ways to cope and move forward. Grief can be due to a loss of a loved one or painful endings such as job loss, retirement, or relationship breakup.
WELLNESS PLANNING
Together we will develop a plan to keep yourself well and become more resilient. I provide tools and techniques such as thought reframing, breathwork and distress tolerance and behaviour activation.
UNDERSTANDING THE STRESS RESPONSE
Together we can identify early warning signs in your body and notice thoughts and emotions that trigger your stress response, whether that is Fight, Flight, Freeze or Fawn (people pleasing). We can than use techniques to reframe thoughts to prevent being triggered.
ANXIETY
Anxiety can be debilitating, but with anxiety treatment, you can learn to manage your symptoms and improve your overall quality of life. Through a combination of therapy and practical tools, you can learn to overcome anxiety and feel more in control of your life. I often work with clients with social and health anxieties with very effective results.
UNDERSTANDING EMOTIONS
Emotions are like riding a wave - but sometimes we can get stuck on the top of the wave. If we ignore emotions it can be like a ball in a swimming pool - If you push it down - it just pops up in an uncontrolled way. Counselling helps you experience your emotions and label them so you can understand them.
